Falls account for the highest percentage of brain injuries in Canada. Commonly these falls occur on construction site where people are regularly working at heights.
Motor vehicle accidents account for 17.3% of brain injuries in Canada. This includes workplace accidents, and accidents involving pedestrians.
This includes equipment and tools - such as dropped hammers, or while moving objects like boxes, boards or poles.
Some notable causes of brain injuries include being struck by lightning, contact with high voltages, fires and explosions.

SBIA's goal with the Protect Your Melon campaign is to educate people on the dangers of brain injuries and to promote proper use of safety equipment to prevent future brain injuries.
Protect Your Melon is a Saskatchewan wide initiative to encourage proper safety practices accross the province and reduce the number of severe brain injuries on worksites.
SBIA relies on the generosity of sponsors and fundraising events to provide support, education and prevention initiatives such as this one.
There are sponsorship opportunities available to purchase bulk watermelon themed hard hats for your company, or the option to donate your sponsored items back to SBIA to help distribute accross the province
SBIA will distribute the donated items to various members in the working community, construction and education institutions to promote safety on behalf of your company.
SBIA relies on the generosity of donors and funds raised from fundraisers with the aim of preventing brain injuries and improving the lives of survivors and their families. With the help of sponsors, SBIA can continue to provide support to those affected by brain injuries and fund preventative initiatives to reduce the number of brain injuries.

SBIA is a Non-Profit organization founded in 1985 that helps individuals and families deal with traumatic or aquired brain injuries. This is done through free information, support programs and preventative efforts throughout Saskatchewan. However SBIA relies on the generosity of its partners and sponsors to continue to provide the support needed to these survivors. Purchasing products through the Protect Your Melon program gets more hard hats out to the community and supports SBIA.
SBIA is offering two types of hard hat styles in its sponsorship packages. Full Brim style hard hats are not compatible with the faceshield accessories
